 AS FEATURED IN:

CTE Isn’t the Problem. Perception Is.

Every day, CTE directors across the country are fighting the same battle. Students are walking past career pathways that could change their lives — because the narrative around CTE hasn't caught up to the reality of what these programs deliver. Families are skeptical because they don’t understand what CTE has become. Communities are underfunding programs they don’t believe in. And leaders like you are doing extraordinary work—in near silence.

The programs are strong. The outcomes are real. The careers are waiting. But none of that matters if the people who need to say “yes” to CTE are still saying “I’m not sure.”

CTE was never meant to be a backup plan.

It was always meant to be the plan.”  Dr. Prudhomme

Dr. Prudhomme has spent 30 years inside this challenge—as a CTE teacher, Counselor, High School Assistant Principal and Magnet School Coordinator, High School Principal, and District CTE Director. She knows what it takes to shift the narrative because she’s done it. And now she helps other leaders do the same.

That’s where Dr. Prudhomme comes in.

When communities believe in CTE — this is what happens.

The CTE Keynote education leaders have been waiting for…

Because CTE is more than just an elective.

Many CTE leaders are doing extraordinary work — and nobody knows it. Strong programs are being overlooked, students are being redirected, and communities are investing in what they understand rather than what students need. The perception gap is real. And it is costing students opportunities they will never get back.

In We Don't Have a CTE Problem — We Have a Perception Problem™, Dr. Donna Prudhomme delivers a revolutionary truth: the barrier holding CTE back is not funding, not facilities, and not curriculum. It is perception. And perception can be changed.

Through The P.E.R.C.E.P.T.I.O.N. Shift™ Framework, audiences gain the language, tools, and leadership strategies they need to reposition CTE in their schools and communities — so students choose it, families support it, and leaders protect it.

"Perception was built. Which means perception can be changed."

The perception gap will not close itself. It closes one leader at a time — one decision, one conversation, one celebration at a time.

When you shift the perception, you don't just change your program — you change what students believe is possible for their future.

From CTE Teacher to CTE National Administrator of the Year

She’s Not Just Talking About CTE.

She’s Been Living It for 30 Years.

Dr. Donna Prudhomme didn’t arrive at this work from the outside. She started as a CTE teacher, moved into counseling at both the elementary and high school levels, served as a high school assistant principal and magnet school coordinator, led as a high school principal, and now leads as a Director of Career and Technical Education. Every role she’s held has given her a different angle on the same question: why do so many people underestimate what CTE can do for students?

That question became her mission. In 2026, she was named the ACTE National Administrator of the Year—the highest honor in CTE leadership—recognizing not just her programs, but her ability to build belief in career education where it didn’t exist before. She has built pathways, changed mindsets, and moved communities from skepticism to championship.

Dr. Prudhomme is also the founder of Prudhomme Enterprises LLC and Credit Education School, through which she develops educational products, courses, and consulting work focused on career development and financial empowerment. She is a REALTOR® and Board Certified Credit Consultant—because she believes that preparing students for careers means preparing them for life.

When Dr. Prudhomme takes the stage, she brings every room she has ever stood in—every student she has counseled, every teacher she has coached, every community she has served—with her. Her message is practical, personal, and impossible to ignore.
